Types of laminated pine wood
In addition to different thicknesses, finger jointed pine is also divided into AA, AB, AC, closed mortise and open mortise… Specifically:
- AA means the board has 2 similar beautiful sides, the color of the component wood pieces is relatively uniform and there are no wood eyes.
- AB means the board has one beautiful side, the other side has a less uniform color and has some wood knots
- AC means the board has one beautiful side, the other side has a less uniform color and has more wood knots (uglier than side B)
- A closed mortise and tenon is a straight-line joint between the component pieces of wood, while an open mortise and tenon is a sawtooth joint.
Advantages and disadvantages
Because it is produced from planted forests, finger-jointed wood is generally relatively cheap, has natural beauty, high durability, and is relatively good at bearing force and moisture resistance.
The disadvantage is that the color is not uniform, when cut into small details, the connection part is easily broken.
Application
Suitable for home interior, office, restaurant, coffee shop…
